Who's Claim (BC) · com.damageinc.whosclaimbc
Effective date: 28 August 2026 · Developer: Damage Inc.
Who's Claim (BC) helps you research land tenure in British Columbia's regional districts — mining claims, leases, lapsed claims, and related map layers — including fully offline. The app is free and contains no advertising and no in-app purchases.
The app uses your device's location (GPS / network) to determine which regional district you are in (the “Auto” selector and the map), to record GPS tracks, and to save waypoints. Location is used only on your device for these features. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
To understand how the app is used and keep it reliable, the app may send anonymous usage events to our own servers. These include a random device identifier generated on your device (not tied to your name, account, phone number, or any other personal information), the app version and device model, which screens you open, and when you start, complete, or fail a data download. These events are sent only to our own infrastructure — not to Google, Meta, or any third party — and are used to measure usage, diagnose problems, and plan improvements. They are not used for advertising and are not combined with other data to identify you.
If the app crashes, a technical crash report (stack trace, device model, app and OS version) may be sent to our own servers to help us fix the problem. Crash reports do not include your location or personal data.
You can deny location permission in your device settings; the location-based features (Auto district selection, track recording, waypoints) simply won't work without it, but the rest of the app will. Analytics are best-effort and non-essential; the app functions fully without them.
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be noted with a new effective date.
